About the Role
We’re seeking a results-oriented Director of Emergency Services to lead the Emergency Department at a busy 302-bed hospital in West Houston. This Level IV Trauma Center sees 130–150 patients per day and has 28 ER beds supported by 60 FTEs.
This is an ideal opportunity for a proven ED leader or a high-performing ED Manager ready to step into a Director role.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee day-to-day operations of a 28-bed Emergency Department
Lead, coach, and develop a 60-person ED team
Improve patient experience, quality outcomes, and staff engagement
Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety protocols, and accrediting agencies
Drive operational performance, staffing excellence, and resource optimization
Collaborate directly with the CNO and hospital leadership to achieve departmental goals
Qualifications
✔️ Current RN license (Texas or Compact)
✔️ Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (required)
✔️ Master’s in Nursing, Healthcare Admin, or Business (preferred)
✔️ 2+ years of recent acute care ED Director experience OR 3–5 years of strong ED Manager experience
✔️ ACLS, BLS, and PALS/ENPC (required)
