Overview

We’re seeking an accomplished Director of Trauma Program to lead and advance trauma services for a Level II Trauma Center in the Fort Walton Beach, Florida area.
This position is responsible for the strategic, operational, and clinical leadership of the trauma program, ensuring exceptional quality of care, adherence to accreditation standards, and continuous performance improvement.

You’ll serve as the subject matter expert for trauma operations—collaborating with physicians, emergency, surgical, and administrative teams to ensure seamless trauma care coordination across the hospital system.


Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations and long-term development of the hospital’s trauma program.

  • Coordinate trauma service delivery across departments, ensuring compliance with state and ACS verification standards.

  • Collaborate with emergency and surgical leaders to drive quality outcomes and process efficiency.

  • Lead trauma registry, quality metrics, and performance improvement initiatives.

  • Facilitate trauma call coverage schedules and multidisciplinary case reviews.

  • Manage trauma program budgets, forecasting, and resource utilization.

  • Support trauma education, outreach, and research activities within the community.

  • Partner with hospital leadership on strategic growth, policy development, and system readiness.

  • Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and patient-centered excellence.


Qualifications

Required:

  • Current RN license in the State of Florida or Compact State

  • Associate Degree or Diploma in Nursing (BSN or higher preferred)

  • Minimum 5 years of recent trauma program management or leadership experience in acute care

  • Strong understanding of ACS verification, state trauma system regulations, and registry processes

  • Current BLS certification (within 30 days of hire)

Preferred:

  • Master’s Degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field

  • TNCC, ATCN, or CEN certification

  • Experience leading trauma performance improvement programs


Compensation & Benefits

  • Hourly Rate: $55–$65/hour (commensurate with experience)
