Location: Charleston, SC
Pay Range: Up to $140,000/year (based on experience)
Incentive Bonus: Eligible for a 15% bonus
Schedule: Full-Time, Days (No Weekends)
Sign-On Bonus & Relocation Assistance: Case by Case Basis

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Director of Infection Prevention to lead the infection prevention efforts across a 445-bed healthcare system that includes two acute care hospitals and three freestanding emergency departments. This system-level role ensures high-quality, patient-centered care by managing and coordinating infection prevention programs, compliance with regulatory standards, and fostering a culture of safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the hospital-wide Infection Prevention Program, including surveillance, analysis, and reporting of healthcare-associated infections.
• Develop and maintain policies and procedures to meet rigorous infection control standards.
• Collaborate with the Infection Prevention Committee to make decisions on infection control and prevention strategies.
• Educate staff on infection prevention practices and regulatory compliance.
• Lead efforts to achieve successful quality/patient safety outcomes.
• Provide guidance and support to Infection Prevention Practitioners and Data Analysts across the system.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal infection control regulations.

Qualifications

• Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a health-related field (Required)
  • Master's Degree in a health-related field (Preferred)
• Licensure (if a Nurse):
  • Active RN license in the state of practice or Compact RN license (Required)
• Certifications:
  • Certification in Infection Prevention (Required)
• Experience:
  • 5+ years in a clinical setting (Required)
  • 5+ years in infection prevention (Required)
  • 2+ years in a leadership role (Required)
  • Note: Infection prevention experience is non-negotiable.

Facility Overview

This position oversees the infection prevention programs at our Medical Center, and three freestanding emergency departments. The team includes Infection Prevention Practitioners and a Data Analyst.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary: Up to $140,000/year
