Director of Emergency Services – Full-Time, Days
Salary: Up to $140,000/year
Incentive Bonus: 17.25% to 26.25% based on performance
Sign-On & Relocation Assistance: Considered case-by-case
An established, high-volume emergency department is seeking a strong leader to serve as Director of Emergency Services. This is a full-time, weekday position offering significant leadership visibility and an opportunity to drive operational performance, patient outcomes, and employee engagement.
Unit Overview:
119-bed hospital
39-bed Emergency Department (up to 60 treatment areas with hall beds)
52,000 annual ED visits
Trauma Level III
80+ FTEs
2 dedicated managers (day shift, support evening coverage as well)
Responsibilities:
Oversee all emergency services operations including staffing, quality, patient experience, and compliance
Lead patient throughput initiatives and continuous improvement efforts
Develop and implement department-wide programs aligned with organizational priorities
Coach and mentor leadership and clinical staff
Ensure compliance with accrediting and regulatory bodies
Drive staff engagement, retention, and performance improvement
Represent the department in hospital-wide and executive-level initiatives
Participate in strategic planning and resource allocation
Requirements:
BSN required; Master’s in Nursing, Business, or Healthcare Administration preferred
Active RN license in applicable state
Minimum 3 years of emergency services leadership experience (Manager-level acceptable with strong metrics and day-to-day ops ownership)
BLS, ACLS, PALS or ENPC certifications required
Proven ability to manage high-volume EDs with strong clinical and operational metrics
