Job Title: Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical

Location: Emporia, KS 66801

Shift: 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:00)

Employment Type: 13-week renewable contract

Salary: $1,706-$1,991/week

We are currently seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse to join our Medical Surgical team. As an RN in the Medical Surgical unit, you will provide direct patient care, administer medications, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to deliver high-quality care to our patients. Your expertise in medical surgical nursing and commitment to patient safety and well-being will contribute to a positive healthcare experience for our patients.

Responsibilities:

Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for patients in the Medical Surgical unit.
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
Monitor and interpret vital signs, lab results, and other patient data.
Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement comprehensive care plans.
Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
Provide patient and family education on disease processes, medications, and self-care techniques.
Maintain a safe and clean patient environment.
Respond to medical emergencies and provide appropriate interventions.
Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain aseptic techniques.
Effectively communicate and collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
Provide emotional support to patients and their families.

Requirements:

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kansas or a compact state
Current BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support), and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certifications
Minimum of 1 year of experience in Medical Surgical nursing
Excellent clinical judgment and critical thinking skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic healthcare environment
Full vaccination against COVID-19 as required by facility guidelines (no declinations or exemptions accepted)
