Your Role as an RRT - Responsibilities

As a Registered Respiratory Therapist , you’ll provide expert respiratory care to patients in need. Here’s what you’ll do:

• Patient Care:

  • Set up and administer routine and complex respiratory therapy procedures for patients of all ages.
  • Operate acute care ventilators for continuous short- and long-term mechanical ventilation.

• Emergency Response:

  • Respond quickly to emergencies, providing critical respiratory support and interventions.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans.

• Documentation & Compliance:

  • Maintain accurate department and hospital records, entering therapy details into the hospital’s electronic system.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards and protocols.

• Team Leadership:

  • Act as a self-directed professional in the absence of the Team Leader, ensuring smooth operations and high-quality care.

Who We’re Looking For

To succeed in this role, you’ll need:

• Experience: At least 1 year of recent acute care RRT experience (within the last year or current). CRT experience will also be considered.
• Education: Completion of an accredited respiratory care program.
• Certifications:
  • Current Florida RRT license (or eligible for state licensure).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Skills: Strong technical proficiency, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.
