Laboratory Director – Clinical Lab Operations

Location: Alexandria, LA
Schedule: Full-time | Days
Salary Range: $47.10 – $70.66 per hour (based on years of experience)
Sign-On Bonus: $15,000
Relocation Assistance: Case-by-case basis

Position Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic Laboratory Director to oversee all facets of clinical laboratory services including blood bank, chemistry, hematology, microbiology, and phlebotomy. This leadership role is ideal for a credentialed Medical Technologist with proven supervisory experience in acute care. Join a team committed to patient care, clinical excellence, and operational effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide operational leadership to laboratory and phlebotomy departments
Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, accreditation bodies, and internal policies
Guide and develop a team of ~75 staff members
Manage quality assurance, performance improvement, and departmental safety initiatives
Collaborate with executive leadership and clinical teams to support hospital-wide objectives
Oversee budget, resource allocation, and staffing to ensure optimal lab performance

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree or higher in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or a related field
Registered Medical Technologist with ASCP certification (or equivalent)
State licensure as a Medical Technologist (or eligible)
Recent acute care hospital supervisory experience required
Proven track record managing multi-disciplinary lab services in a hospital setting
