The Medical Center, a multi-specialty hospital in Texas with over 360 beds, houses a Children’s Hospital, a Women’s Center of Texas (featuring a Level III NICU), a Kidney Transplant Center, and an Institute for Robotic Surgery. Our comprehensive services include 24-hour emergency care, heart and vascular care, neurology and neurosurgery, rehabilitation services, and inpatient and outpatient surgery.

Our dedicated teams strive to enhance human life. Approximately five percent of all U.S. hospital services occur at an HCA Healthcare facility each year. As a Director of Labor and Delivery, your passion for leadership and creativity will be valued.

📜 Job Summary and Responsibilities: As the Director of Labor and Delivery, you will:

  • Ensure high-quality, patient-centered care by overseeing unit(s)/department(s) function and staffing.
  • Forecast, plan, and monitor budgets while fostering a culture of accountability and collaboration.
  • Implement evidence-based practices to enhance patient safety and quality outcomes.
  • Stay informed about internal/external benchmarks, accreditations, and legal/regulatory standards to ensure compliance.
  • Streamline patient throughput and care delivery through volume forecasting and coordination.
  • Promote interdisciplinary communication and collaboration while directing nursing practice and unit operations.
  • Elevate the patient experience, employee engagement, and organizational values.
  • Collaborate with the administrative team and physicians to enhance existing services or develop new ones.

📝 Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
  • Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Active TX RN license.
  • BLS certification.
  • ACLS, NRP, FHM, RNC-OB preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in women’s services required.
  • 2+ years of managerial/director experience required.

💼 Additional Details:

  • Maternal Designation 4 (highest).
  • Level III NICU (babies born before 32 weeks).
  • 5 L&D suites.
  • 8000+ births a year (700+ a month).
  • Women’s Services bed count total: 285.
  • Direct Reports/FTE: 220, including managers for Antepartum, L&D Evening, L&D Day, L&D OR, OB ED, & Maternal Designation Manager.

💲 Compensation:

  • Salary Range: Up to $173,000 max base.
  • Bonus eligible: Yes.
  • Eligible for relocation: Yes.
