Day Shift: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (Rotating Weekends)
Evening Shift: 12:00 PM - 8:30 PM or 11:00 AM - 7:30 PM (Mon-Fri, No Weekends)
Hourly Pay Range:
$32.91/hr (min) - $45.25/hr (max, based on experience)
Shift Differentials:
+$2.00/hr Evenings
+$2.00/hr Weekends
Sign-On Bonus: Up to $15,000
Relocation Assistance: Case by case
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Observation RN Case Manager to join our fast-paced team. This is a dynamic position focused on progressing care and coordinating discharge for patients in the Observation Unit. You'll work closely with physicians and multidisciplinary teams, applying InterQual criteria to ensure efficient, safe transitions of care and optimal resource utilization. This is a hands-on, movement-based role, ideal for a proactive RN who thrives in high-tempo environments.
Responsibilities:
Manage progression of care for observation patients using InterQual criteria
Collaborate with physicians to support timely admission/discharge decisions
Identify and escalate care delays and barriers through appropriate channels
Refer patients to inpatient case managers or social workers when discharge risks are identified
Perform psychosocial and medical discharge assessments
Facilitate patient throughput and discharge planning
Communicate effectively with providers, patients, families, and third-party payors
Advocate for safe, appropriate, and cost-effective care transitions
Align patient needs with available resources and community support
Maintain documentation in compliance with regulatory standards
Actively participate in performance improvement and patient advocacy efforts
Requirements:
1+ year of recent Case Management experience required (RN CM or insurance CM acceptable)
Experience with InterQual required
Florida RN license or Compact license (must obtain FL license within 60 days)
BLS (AHA) required within 30 days
Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred
Strong communication, problem-solving, and multitasking skills
Utilization management experience preferred
