- Pay Range: $120,000 – $155,000 annually (commensurate with experience)
Overview
A well-established neurology and stroke care program in the Arlington, Texas area is seeking an experienced Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) to join its Neuro Hospitalist team.
This is a full-time inpatient position with a structured 7-on/7-off schedule providing balance, autonomy, and exposure to advanced neurological care.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for neuroscience, thrive in high-acuity settings, and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
Provide inpatient management for neurology and stroke patients across general neurology, step-down, and neuro-critical care units.
Perform detailed neurological assessments, document care plans, and evaluate patient progress.
Participate in acute stroke response and coordinate treatment with the multidisciplinary team.
Manage conditions including ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke, seizures, encephalopathy, neurotrauma, and neuromuscular disorders.
Educate patients and families on diagnosis, treatment, and recovery expectations.
Support performance improvement, quality assurance, and educational initiatives.
Collaborate with neurology, neurosurgery, hospital medicine, and rehabilitation specialists to deliver coordinated care.
Qualifications
Required:
Active RN license and ACNP certification (Acute Care Nurse Practitioner) in the State of Texas or compact eligibility
Current BLS certification (AHA or Red Cross)
2+ years of inpatient or hospital-based NP experience
Preferred:
Prior neurology, neurocritical care, or hospitalist experience
NIH Stroke Scale or ENLS certification
Familiarity with EEG monitoring, lumbar puncture procedures, or neuro imaging
