Compensation: $110,000 – $140,000/year + Incentive Bonus up to 17.5%

Overview
We are seeking an accomplished Director of Critical Care to lead cardiovascular intensive and progressive care services at a Magnet®-designated, nationally recognized hospital. This is a high-impact leadership role overseeing a 19-bed unit with 65 FTEs, including the CVICU and CVPC units. Candidates must bring extensive cardiovascular leadership experience in critical care to be considered. Responsibilities
Provide 24/7 leadership and accountability for CVICU and CVPC operations, staff, and patient outcomes.
Develop and execute strategic goals aligned with hospital initiatives.
Ensure compliance with regulatory, professional, and hospital standards.
Mentor managers and frontline staff, fostering engagement and professional growth.
Oversee budget management, staffing resources, and capital planning.
Integrate evidence-based practices and support research in clinical operations.
Collaborate with physicians, anesthesia, and senior leadership to advance cardiac and critical care services.
Lead performance improvement, patient safety, and quality programs across critical care units.
Qualifications
Required
Master’s Degree in Nursing OR BSN with MBA, MHA, or related graduate degree
Active RN license in North Carolina or eNLC Compact state
BLS certification
National Nursing Leadership Certification (within 1 year of hire or by signed commitment)
5+ years of experience in critical care nursing
Minimum 3 years of progressive acute care leadership experience
Strong cardiovascular background (required)
Preferred
MSN
5+ years of progressive leadership experience in an acute care hospital
