About the Role
Join a premier healthcare provider at a 238-bed acute care hospital in Panama City, FL , and lead as the Manager of Medical-Surgical Services . In this role, you’ll oversee a 42-bed Med-Surg unit, ensuring high-quality, cost-effective patient care while driving operational excellence and staff development. This is a leadership position reporting to the Director of Nursing, offering opportunities for professional growth and advancement.
Key Responsibilities
✔️ Administer, analyze, and appraise patient care within the department. Advise leadership on patient care status, budgetary projections, and quality improvement processes.✔️ Demonstrate advanced clinical skills and mentor staff to achieve exceptional care delivery.
✔️ Lead, supervise, and manage personnel resources effectively to ensure cost efficiency and productivity.
✔️ Participate in unit-based Quality Improvement initiatives and actively seek ways to control costs without compromising care quality.
✔️ Maintain a supportive environment that prioritizes patient safety, privacy, and confidentiality.
✔️ Plan, implement, and evaluate patient care based on comprehensive assessments and age-specific needs.
✔️ Monitor and respond to changes in patient conditions, taking appropriate action to ensure positive outcomes.
✔️ Attend in-service presentations and complete all mandatory education requirements.
Qualifications
🔹 Active RN License (Florida license required; compact licensure accepted – must meet Florida requirements).
🔹 Associate’s Degree in Nursing Required | BSN Preferred.
🔹 Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) Certification Required within 30 days of hire.
🔹 2–3 Years of Recent Acute Care Leadership Experience (Supervisor/Manager level) in an adult inpatient setting (Med/Surg, PCU, ICU, or similar preferred).
🔹 Strong interpersonal, leadership, and organizational skills.

- Size: 42-bed Med-Surg unit (“bread and butter” med-surg patients).
- Team: 57 FTEs, including Directors, Managers, Clinical Nurse Coordinators, RNs, LPNs, and Patient Care Techs.
- Recent Upgrades: The unit has been fully remodeled and upgraded!
