Position Description:

  • Unit Overview: Join a dynamic 24-bed Neuro Trauma ICU floor catering to Diagnostic and Interventional Neurology and Trauma patients. Be a part of a team that takes pride in a 2:1 patient care ratio and 24-hour on-site Intensivist support.
  • Licenses/Certifications:
    • Valid Texas State RN license or compact license.
    • BLS and ACLS from a recognized institution are mandatory.
  • Educational Qualification:
    • BSN is highly recommended.
    • ADN holders may be considered but must commit to obtaining a BSN within 2 years.
    • Exceptional opportunity: Tuition-free ADN to BSN program available, which can be completed online in approximately a year!
  • Experience Requirement: Minimum 1 year of recent acute care Neuro ICU experience. Candidates with 2 years of recent acute care ICU experience may also be considered.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient Care: Deliver compassionate, high-quality care to patients in the Neuro Trauma ICU, focusing on Diagnostic and Interventional Neurology and Trauma cases.
  • Clinical Assessment: Monitor and evaluate patient’s health condition, make clinical assessments, and manage treatment autonomously.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with a dedicated team of healthcare professionals, including 24-hour on-site Intensivists, Trauma Surgeons, and more.
  • Patient Advocacy: Ensure patients' rights are respected and that their medical and physical conditions are regularly assessed and proper treatments are administered.
  • Continuous Monitoring: Maintain a vigilant watch over ICU patients, ensuring optimal care and immediate response to any change in the health condition.
  • Education & Counselling: Inform patients and families about the medical procedures, future care plans, and overall health conditions.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salary Structure:
    • $33/hr for 1-year experience
    • Mid: $47.10/hr for 10 years of experience
    • Max: $54/hr for 18 years of experience
  • Shift Differential: Additional $4.30/hr for weekend shifts.
