Shift: 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30)

Job Duration: 13-week renewable contract
Salary: $2,052-$2,394/week
We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Medical Surgical/Telemetry team in Chesapeake, VA. As an MS/Tele Nurse, you will provide comprehensive care to patients in a night shift setting. This is a 13-week renewable contract position with night shifts available.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients in the Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit.
- Monitor and assess patients' conditions, including vital signs, telemetry readings, and overall health status.
- Administer medications, start IV lines, and perform other nursing procedures as required.
- Interpret telemetry readings and promptly report any abnormalities or changes in patients' conditions.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families regarding their condition, treatment, and recovery.
- Ensure accurate and thorough documentation of patient information, treatments, and response to care.
- Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Demonstrate strong IV start skills and proficiency in telemetry interpretation.
- Utilize EPIC electronic medical record system proficiently.
- Float to other units, work on weekends, and holidays as scheduled within the contract.
Requirements:
- Valid RN license in Virginia (Compact or VA license in hand - no exceptions).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Medical Surgical/Telemetry nursing.
- BLS and ACLS certifications required via American Heart Association.
- Proficiency in using EPIC electronic medical record system.
- Strong skills in IV starts and telemetry interpretation.
- Travel nursing experience is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
