Our 600+ bed acute care hospital delivers advanced maternal care through our:
- High-risk antepartum unit
- Level III NICU
- 21-bed Labor & Delivery unit
- ~2,600 deliveries annually

Position Overview
We're seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery Nurse Manager to provide 24/7 leadership for our growing women's services department. This role oversees 57 FTEs across Labor & Delivery, OB ED, and antepartum units, supported by Clinical Nurse Coordinators and a dedicated Maternal Program Coordinator and Educator.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 24/7 operational oversight of L&D, OB ED, and antepartum units
- Lead and develop a team of 57+ nursing professionals
- Drive evidence-based nursing practices and quality outcomes
- Ensure regulatory compliance and maintain Magnet standards
- Empower staff and promote unit ownership
- Manage department budgets and operational metrics
- Foster a culture of nursing autonomy and professional growth
- Support high-risk maternal care initiatives
- Implement performance improvement projects
Required Qualifications
- BSN required (MSN preferred)
- Current Texas RN license or compact license
- 2+ years of recent acute care L&D leadership experience
- Previous Magnet or Pathways facility experience required
- BLS/ACLS certification
- National Specialty Certification (or obtain within 1 year)
- Experience with high-risk and complex obstetrical cases
