Job Title: Registered Nurse - Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to provide exceptional patient care in our Intensive Care Unit. The RN ICU will be responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing care and interventions to address the problems of the neonate. The RN ICU will also serve as the primary coordinator of all disciplines to ensure well-coordinated patient care. In addition, the RN ICU will monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systems. The RN ICU will be expected to provide age and culturally appropriate care, maintain a safe and therapeutic patient care environment for at-risk infants, and orient and mentor new staff members.

Requirements:

ADN required; BSN preferred
Current Texas State Licensure as a Registered Nurse (Compact license is accepted, but TX State RN license required within 30 days of hire)
Current ACLS and BLS certification
Must have at least 3 years of nursing experience
CU experience of at least 2 years
Recent acute care experience is a must

Responsibilities:

Assess, plan and implement care and interventions to address the problems of the neonate
Carry out physician orders
Assist physician during examination, treatment, and procedures
Administer prescribed medications, changes dressings, cleans wounds, monitors vital signs
Serve as the primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care
Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systems
Instruct and educate patients and families
Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team
Provide age and culturally appropriate care
Maintain a safe and therapeutic patient care environment for at-risk infants
Orient and mentor new staff members

Salary Range:

$34 (1 year of experience)
Mid: $42.92 (10 years of experience)
Max: $54 (20 years of experience)

Night Shift Differential: $3.75/hr. Weekend Differential: $4.30/hr.
