Job Title: Staff RN - Inpatient Rehab

Job Summary:

As a Staff RN in Rehab, you will play a vital role in the overall care and management of patients undergoing rehabilitation. Your primary responsibilities will include overseeing the efficient flow of rehab patients, conducting screenings and assessments, and providing education to patients and families. Additionally, you will be responsible for administering medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders. Your strong communication, clinical, and organizational skills will be essential in ensuring the best possible outcomes for your patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Patient Flow Management: Coordinate the admission, transfer, and discharge of patients in the rehab unit to ensure seamless transitions and minimize delays in care.
  2. Screenings and Assessments: Perform thorough and accurate screenings and assessments of patients, including physical, psychological, and social evaluations, to identify individual needs and develop appropriate care plans.
  3. Patient and Family Education: Provide clear, concise, and compassionate education to patients and their families regarding treatment plans, medication instructions, and self-care techniques to promote optimal recovery and prevent complications.
  4. Medication and Treatment Administration: Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, closely monitoring for effectiveness and potential side effects, and promptly reporting any concerns or issues.
  5. Care Plan Development and Implementation: Collaborate with the interdisciplinary rehab team to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans that address patients' unique needs and goals for recovery.
  6. Documentation and Record Keeping: Accurately document all patient care activities, assessments, and interventions in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with facility policies and regulatory requirements.
  7. Patient Safety and Quality Improvement: Actively participate in efforts to maintain a safe and secure environment for patients, staff, and visitors, and support continuous quality improvement initiatives.
  8. Team Collaboration: Work effectively with interdisciplinary team members, including physicians, therapists, social workers, and support staff, to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care for patients.
  9. Continuing Education and Professional Development: Stay current with best practices, evidence-based research, and industry trends through ongoing professional development and training opportunities.
  10. Patient Advocacy: Serve as a compassionate and knowledgeable advocate for patients, addressing concerns and working to resolve issues in a timely and satisfactory manner.

By fulfilling these responsibilities, the Staff RN in Rehab plays a crucial role in helping patients regain their independence, achieve their rehab goals, and improve their overall quality of life.

 

Qualifications and Requirements:

To be considered for the Staff RN - Rehab position, you must have the following qualifications and requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing preferred
  • Current State of Florida RN License, or compact
  • Current BLS certification via American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Advanced certifications (i.e. CEN, TNCC, etc.) preferred
  • Minimum 1 year RN experience
  • Fully vaccinated for COVID-19 based on local, state and /or federal law or regulations (unless a medical or religious exemption is approved)
