Job Summary:

As a CT Technologist, you will be responsible for conducting CT and Radiologic procedures in compliance with American Registry of Radiologic Technology standards and hospital policies. You will use radiation optimally, following the principles of Image Gently, Image Wisely and American College of Radiology. Additionally, you must possess knowledge of human structure and functions, patient care and safety, radiographic sciences, radiation protection, contrast medication safety, and specialized techniques. 

Responsibilities:

  •  Perform CT scans of optimal diagnostic quality on patients from Neonatal to Geriatric age groups
  •  Follow established scanning and viewing protocols
  •  Efficiently and effectively operate CT scanner and related equipment
  •  Prioritize work flow to meet STAT and urgent demands while continuing to meet OP customer standards
  •  Modify positioning and scanning factors when standard cannot be performed
  •  Demonstrate knowledge of disease processes and produce studies that optimally identify related anatomy
  •  Solicit patient cooperation by providing patient education about the procedure and expected sensations
  • Use the power injector and understand its limits
  •  Complete required documentation on forms, logs, work station, and charting system
  •  Assist Radiologist during invasive procedures and ensure availability of required supplies

Qualifications:

Education:

• Graduate of an American Medical Association-approved program in Radiologic Technology or meet requirements for Texas certification of Medical Radiologic Technologist on an education-equivalent basis

Experience:

• One year of experience performing CT procedures is preferred

• Entry level candidates are welcome to apply

Licenses and Certifications:

• Certified or Temporary Certified by Texas Department of State Health Services as a Medical Radiologic Technologist

• ARRT (R) Certified with Radiology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or ARRT (R) registry eligible with the understanding that ARRT (R) must be obtained within 12 months post-hire

• BLS required per St. David's HealthCare policy

• Fully vaccinated for COVID-19 based on local, state and/or federal law or regulations (unless a medical or religious exemption is approved)

Shift Information:

  • • 7p-7a (8 positions) and 7a-7p (2 positions)
  • • Rotating weekends
  • • Call required - discussed during the interview

Unit Information:

• Professional and efficient team

• Blocked scheduling considered

Compensation:

• Additional Night diff: $2.50 p/hr, Weekend diff: $2.50 p/hr

• New Grad: $32.01

• 1-4 YOE: $33-$35

• 5-9 YOE: $35-$38

• 10+ YOE: $38-$40

• 15+ YOE: $40-$42

• Requires approval: MAX: $44.80
