The MRI Technologist is responsible for performing MRI procedures in accordance with medical standards and department policies, and training Level One MR Safety Trained Personnel. The technologist demonstrates knowledge of human anatomy, patient care, positioning, electromagnetic and computer sciences, magnetic protection, and specialized techniques. In addition, they will perform the duties of a Medical Radiographer when not performing MRI exams.

Responsibilities:

  •  Produce high-quality MRI images of patients of all ages and conditions.
  •  Operate MRI equipment efficiently and follow established scanning protocols. • Prioritize and complete scans in a timely manner, including urgent demands.
  •  Modify scanning factors for trauma, acute and challenging patients when needed.
  •  Recognize disease processes and communicate findings to the Radiologist.
  •  Maintain clinical responsibilities and safety practices in the MR department.

Qualifications:

  •  Graduate of an AMA-approved Radiologic Technology program.
  •  Completed courses in MRI and cross-sectional anatomy.
  •  One year of experience performing MRI procedures. • Certified in Radiology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) by the Association of Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
  •  MRI post-primary certifications required 1 year post MRI assignment.
  •  BLS certification required.

Shift Information:

  •  7p – 7a. • No weekends.
  •  Call required - discussed during the interview.

Compensation:

  • 1-4 YOE: $27-$30.
  • 5-9 YOE: $30-$32.
  • 10+ YOE: $32-$35.
  •  Additional night and weekend differentials of $2.50 per hour.
  •  Max: $41 (requires approval).
