Registered Nurse Acute Care
Employment Type: Full-Time
Schedule: 12-hour hospital shifts | Days or Nights | Weekend rotation
Compensation: $30.69 – $43.20/hr depending on department and experience
Float Pool: $43.00/hr flat rate
Shift Differentials: Nights +$4.25/hr | Weekends +$3.00/hr
Sign-On Bonus: Up to $20,000 on select night-shift units
Relocation Assistance: Available for select approved hires
Position Snapshot
A large acute care hospital in the greater Gainesville market is adding bedside RNs across multiple inpatient specialty units. This opening is designed for nurses who want to be considered for more than one department through a single application.
Current needs include renal/vascular, pulmonary, neurology/stroke, inpatient surgical, cardiac telemetry, and med-surg float pool.
Candidates must be within reasonable commuting distance of the greater Gainesville area. In-person interview completion is required before offer.
Departments Hiring
Renal / Vascular
Days and nights available. High-priority need. Typical staffing model requires comfort with 7:1 ratios.
Pulmonary / Respiratory Care
Night shift focus. Adult inpatient respiratory and med-surg population.
Neurology / Stroke
Day and night openings. Inpatient neuro population with stroke-focused care needs.
Inpatient Surgical
Night shift opportunity supporting post-surgical recovery and overnight surgical admissions.
Cardiac Telemetry / Med-Surg
Days and nights. Ratios typically 5:1 to 6:1, with occasional variation based on census.
Float Pool – Med-Surg
Flat-rate role floating across med-surg areas. Requires current med-surg experience and flexibility with assignment.
Minimum Qualifications
Active Florida RN license or multistate compact license
ASN, RN Diploma, or BSN
1 year recent acute care RN experience within the last 2 years for most units
BLS required
Unit-specific onboarding certifications apply by department
Core Responsibilities
• Assess patient condition and monitor clinical changes
• Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapies
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams
• Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and recovery
• Follow hospital patient safety and infection control protocols
