Part-Time Bookkeeper – Nonprofit Organization

Location: Little Elm, TX

Schedule: Flexible weekday hours (approximately 15–20 hours/week)
Pay Range: $20 – $30/hour (based on experience)


Overview

A nonprofit organization based in Little Elm is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Part-Time Bookkeeper to support day-to-day financial operations. This role is critical to maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with nonprofit accounting standards, and supporting leadership with timely financial reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for the organization.

  • Record and reconcile bank statements, credit cards, and general ledger accounts.

  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable.

  • Track donations, grants, and restricted funds in accordance with nonprofit guidelines.

  • Assist with monthly and quarterly financial reports.

  • Support budgeting, audit preparation, and financial reviews as needed.

  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and nonprofit accounting standards.

  • Coordinate with leadership and external accountants or auditors as required.


Qualifications

Required

  • Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or Accounting Assistant.

  • Strong knowledge of bookkeeping principles and financial reconciliation.

  • Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks or similar).

  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

  • Ability to handle confidential financial information with integrity.

Preferred

  • Prior experience working with nonprofit organizations.

  • Familiarity with grant tracking and donor-restricted funds.

  • Associate’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
