Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic imaging procedures, primarily X-rays, and ensure high-quality images are captured.
- Set up and prepare equipment for each patient, following safety protocols and maintaining cleanliness.
- Explain procedures to patients, addressing any concerns and ensuring their comfort during the process.
- Position patients correctly for imaging, adjusting equipment as needed to capture the best images.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to determine appropriate imaging techniques.
- Operate and maintain radiologic equipment, including GE direct digital and Konica DR systems.
- Maintain patient records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.
- Adhere to infection control protocols, maintaining a safe and sterile environment.
- Provide radiation protection and follow safety standards to protect patients and staff.
- Perform image quality checks and troubleshoot equipment issues when necessary.
- Assist with training and supervising student radiologic technologists when applicable.
- Keep abreast of advancements in radiologic technology and participate in ongoing education and training.
- Adhere to the highest ethical and professional standards in healthcare.
