Position Overview:
The Graduate Nurse Residency position is open at P/St. Lukes Medical Center. This program offers a comprehensive training and orientation process for new graduate nurses, providing them with the tools and experience they need to transition into professional nursing roles.

Responsibilities:

Participate in meaningful learning and networking opportunities in a cohort setting.
Complete a new employee orientation and unit-specific orientation lasting 10-12 weeks.
Undergo 5-6 weeks of didactic training, including clinical orientation, certification courses, high-fidelity simulation, Meditech EMR training, and e-learning. This will be a full-time commitment, Monday-Friday.
Engage in 5-6 weeks of clinical training on the unit with a dedicated preceptor, working 32 hours per week.

Open Units:

Med/Surg, Med/Tele Cardiac, Ortho, Spine, Neuro, Oncology, Bone Marrow Transplant, Critical Care, Complex Surgical Transplant, Step Down Unit, Acute Rehab, Behavioral Health, PACU, and more.

Special Notes:

Canadian students are accepted.
Visa sponsorship is available for international students who graduated from an accredited nursing program in the U.S. (excluding nationals from India and China).
All candidates must have an active OPT, which is a temporary employment authorization valid for a year. This must be related to their major.

Qualifications:

Current nursing degree (associates or bachelors) by the start date.
Passing NCLEX results by the start date.
No prior experience as an acute care hospital Registered Nurse.
Flexibility for shift timings and a two-year commitment to a HealthONE hospital.
Adherence to the state mandate regarding the COVID-19 vaccine by October 31, 2021.
