We are currently seeking experienced and dedicated Registered Nurses (RNs) to join our Cardio Thoracic Intensive Care Unit (CICU) team. As a CICU Nurse, you will provide specialized critical care to patients recovering from fresh open-heart surgery. - Provide specialized nursing care to patients in the Cardio Thoracic Intensive Care Unit (CICU) under the direction of the medical team.
- Monitor and assess the condition of patients, including vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and response to treatment.
- Administer medications, treatments, and procedures as prescribed, ensuring accurate documentation and adherence to medication safety protocols.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans for each patient.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding their condition, treatment plan, and self-care measures.
- Assist in the coordination of patient care, including the management of ventilators, arterial lines, and other advanced monitoring equipment.
- Respond to emergencies and provide immediate interventions in critical situations, following established protocols and guidelines.
- Maintain a safe and clean patient environment, adhering to infection control practices and ensuring proper equipment functionality.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse (RN) in a Cardio Thoracic Intensive Care Unit (CICU) or similar critical care setting.
- Proficiency in using the CERNER electronic medical records system.
- Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) and BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) certifications.
- NIH (National Institutes of Health) certification is preferred.
- TCAR (Trauma Care After Resuscitation) and TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certifications are preferred.
- Ability to work night shifts on a 3x12-hour schedule (19:00 - 07:30) with every other weekend coverage.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
