Job Title: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Respiratory/Neuro Diagnostics

Location: Johnston, IA 50131

Shift: 3x12-Hour (18:00 - 06:00)

Start Date: ASAP

Job Duration: 13-week renewable contract

Salary: $1,706-$1,991/week

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join our Respiratory/Neuro Diagnostics team. As an RRT, you will play a crucial role in providing respiratory care services to patients of all ages, including children, teens, and adults. Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive respiratory assessments and develop individualized treatment plans based on patient needs.
  • Administer and monitor various respiratory therapies, including oxygen therapy, aerosolized medication administration, and pulmonary function testing.
  • Manage and maintain mechanical ventilation equipment for critically ill patients.
  • Conduct patient education on respiratory care techniques, disease management, and equipment usage.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to optimize patient outcomes and promote effective communication.
  • Document patient interactions, treatments provided, and response to therapy accurately and timely.
  • Respond to respiratory emergencies and provide immediate interventions as required.
  • Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and safety standards.

Requirements:

  • Valid and active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential.
  • Current Iowa or Compact state license to practice as a Respiratory Therapist.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as an RRT.
  • Experience in neuro diagnostics and working with pediatric patients is highly desired.
  • Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively within a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
