ICU RN
Schedule:
Days 7:00am - 7:00am (rotating weekends) / 3X12hrs shifts
Nights 7:00pm - 7:00am (rotating weekends) / 3X12hrs shifts
POSITION SUMMARY:
The ICU RN manages the nursing care of critically ill patients in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform direct patient care within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act.
- Will float between the ICU and CCU units
- Use therapeutic communication in daily practice.
- Maintain a safe and therapeutic Intensive Care environment.
- Implement and direct care, using the nursing process with emphasis on the needs of individual patients.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of the nursing process.
- Provide emotional support of the patient and significant others to make informed choices regarding health care.
- Promote a supportive environment that treats patients and families with dignity, respect and appreciation of their lifestyle, religion, and culture.
- Maintain high quality, age specific care for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients as assigned.
- Delegate tasks to the appropriate caregiver.
- Participate in Department specific initiatives and process improvement.
- Provide supervision of new employees, patient care assistants, nurse technicians, student nurses, and / or nurse interns.
- Support the mission, vision, and values of the organization
EDUCATION:
- BSN is Required (However, if candidates only have an ADN, they are required to enroll in a BSN program within 6 months of hire and complete it within 36 months)
- With CNO approval: If Candidates do not have a BSN Degree but have an ADN, they have a Tuition Free ADN to BSN program here at HCA! Online takes approx. a year!
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:
- Current Texas State Licensure as a Registered Nurse (Compact license is accepted but TX State RN license required within 30 days of hire)
- Current BLS and ACLS from American Heart
EXPERIENCE:
Must have at 1 years of ICU experience.
Willing to speak with candidates that do not have recent acute care experience. However, if it is not like more than 5 years that they have not been in acute care.
MUST have acute care experience
Salary: $34(1 year of experience) – Mid: $42.92 (10 years of experience) - Max: $54 (20 years of experience)
Differential: Nights $ 3.75 p/h - Weekend $4.20 p/h
