Job Duration: 13-Week Renewable Contract
Salary: $2,009-$2,344/week
We are currently seeking experienced and compassionate Registered Nurses to join our Intermediate Care unit in Baltimore, MD. As an IMC Nurse, you will provide specialized care to patients who require a higher level of monitoring and intervention than general medical-surgical patients but do not require intensive care.
Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and develop individualized care plans for patients in the Intermediate Care unit.
- Monitor and interpret patients' vital signs, telemetry readings, and laboratory results, promptly reporting any abnormalities to the healthcare team.
- Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as prescribed, ensuring patient safety and optimal outcomes.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate and manage patient care, ensuring effective communication and seamless transitions between units and departments.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families, addressing their questions and concerns regarding their condition, treatment plan, and self-care strategies.
- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the Epic electronic medical record system.
- Assist in the evaluation and implementation of evidence-based practice guidelines and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
- Adhere to infection control protocols and promote a safe and clean environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
- Respond to emergencies and provide immediate nursing interventions as necessary.
Requirements:
- Valid Registered Nurse license in the state of Maryland.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in multitrauma, adult care, intermediate care, or telemetry.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certifications are required.
- Experience with Epic charting system is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare professionals.
- Must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 based on facility guidelines (Medical/Religious Exemptions Only).
