Job Title: Certified Surgical Technician (CST) - Surgical Services

Location: Hickory, NC 28602

Shift: 5x8-Hour (06:45 - 15:15)

Start Date: ASAP

Job Duration: 13-week renewable contract

Salary: $1,920-$2,240/week

We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Certified Surgical Technician (CST) to join our Surgical Services team in Hickory, NC. As a CST, you will play a crucial role in assisting surgeons and the surgical team during procedures, ensuring a safe and efficient operating room environment. Your knowledge, technical expertise, and attention to detail will contribute to successful surgical outcomes and patient satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain the operating room and surgical instruments, ensuring sterility and adherence to aseptic techniques.
  • Assist the surgical team by handing instruments and supplies during procedures, anticipating the surgeon's needs.
  • Set up and monitor surgical equipment, including lights, suction machines, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Ensure the proper functioning of equipment and troubleshoot any issues that may arise.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to create a safe and efficient workflow, promoting patient safety and comfort.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of procedures, supplies used, and patient information.
  • Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a clean and organized surgical environment.
  • Assist in the transportation and positioning of patients, ensuring their safety and comfort.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients.
  • Participate in ongoing education and professional development to stay updated with the latest surgical techniques and advancements.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited program of Surgical Technology.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Certified Surgical Technician (CST).
  • Proficiency in a wide range of surgical specialties, excluding open heart, neuro, and solid organ transplant. L&D experience limited to C-Sections is preferred; training can be provided if necessary.
  • Ability to handle weekend call every 3-4th weekend and occasional night call (3p-7p, 1 night per month), as well as holiday coverage.
  • Current certification as a Surgical Technician (CST) is required.
  • COVID-19 vaccination is mandatory in accordance with facility guidelines, with medical/religious exemptions accepted.
