Director of Emergency Services RN – Full-Time | Kingwood, TX

  • Schedule: Days (No Weekends)
  • Salary Range: $127,649 – $191,464 (based on experience)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Director of Emergency Services RN to lead a high-volume, fast-paced adult ER within a 420+ bed acute care hospital in Kingwood, TX. With oversight of a 29-bed emergency unit averaging 150 patients daily, this role is ideal for a dynamic and strategic RN leader ready to advance emergency care delivery and drive departmental excellence.

This position reports to the VP of Emergency Services and oversees departmental growth, clinical quality, staff performance, and regulatory compliance.


Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage daily operations of a high-volume, 29-bed Emergency Department

  • Develop and implement strategies to ensure quality patient care aligned with hospital mission and standards

  • Monitor and maintain departmental compliance with regulatory and accrediting bodies (e.g. Joint Commission, CMS)

  • Direct performance improvement initiatives and track KPIs to enhance efficiency and patient outcomes

  • Oversee department budget, staffing, and resource allocation to support operational goals

  • Mentor and develop managers and front-line staff, fostering leadership pipelines

  • Ensure evidence-based practices are integrated into all aspects of emergency care delivery

  • Build strong interdepartmental relationships and contribute to hospital-wide initiatives

  • Support staff engagement, training, and retention through coaching, recognition, and communication

  • Maintain adherence to safety policies including exposure control plans for bloodborne and airborne pathogens


Requirements

  • 3–5 years of recent (within the last year) leadership experience in an acute care Emergency Department

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required

  • Master’s Degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or Business preferred

  • Active RN license in the state of Texas (or compact license with Texas eligibility)

  • Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS or ENPC certifications required
