Position: Director of Obstetrics
Location: Austin, TX
Salary: min $135k - mid $140k - max $145k

Overview: The Medical Center, a multi-specialty hospital in Texas, is seeking a skilled Director of Obstetrics to lead and elevate our Obstetrics department. Join us to contribute to a culture of excellence and innovation in patient-centered care.

Position Description: As the Director of Obstetrics, you'll be responsible for ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care. This entails overseeing unit/department functions, forecasting, planning, and budget monitoring. You'll cultivate a culture of accountability, collaboration, and evidence-based practices while upholding standards of care and legal/regulatory compliance. Fostering interdisciplinary communication, promoting patient safety, and driving patient experience improvements will be pivotal.

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement evidence-based practices to advance patient safety and quality outcomes.
Manage clinical practice variation for improved efficiency, effectiveness, and cost.
Monitor internal/external benchmarks, accreditations, and designations; pursue efforts for achievement.
Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards through policies and procedures.
Enhance patient throughput and high-quality care delivery.
Develop care coordination policies to improve quality, safety, and efficiency.
Foster interdisciplinary communication and collaboration.
Direct nursing practice and unit operations; develop policies and standards.
Instill accountability for consistent, positive patient interactions.
Drive employee engagement strategies and elevate the patient experience.
Collaborate with administrative team and physicians to enhance services.
Participate in the budget process, monitor performance, and address gaps.

Qualifications:

Education: BSN
License/Certification: Basic Cardiac Life Support, Registered Nurse
Experience: 2+ years in a leadership role, 3+ years in healthcare

Additional Information:

Anticipated 97 beds by the end of 2023
Overseeing postpartum & lactation areas
Women’s Center of TX to be about 285 beds
Shift: Full Time, No Weekends (24hr responsibility due to Director role)
Salary: min $135k - mid $140k - max $145k
Eligible for leadership bonus
