Labor and Delivery Nurse Manager – Full-Time – Nights (No Weekends)
- Location: Austin, TX
- Schedule: 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM or 9:00 PM – 5:00 AM
- Salary: Up to $150,000/year (based on experience)
Overview
An established multi-specialty hospital in Austin, TX is hiring a Labor and Delivery Nurse Manager to lead the night shift across Labor & Delivery, OBED, OBOR, and Antepartum units. This is a high-volume birthing environment with over 10,000 births annually, requiring a seasoned nurse leader who thrives in fast-paced, high-acuity maternity care.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee daily clinical operations during night shift across all L&D subsets
Ensure high-quality, patient-centered care and staff accountability
Promote adherence to clinical and regulatory standards
Monitor staff competencies and assign appropriately based on patient needs
Support patient throughput via effective admission, transfer, and discharge planning
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated care delivery
Review and respond to patient feedback and satisfaction metrics
Foster a culture of accountability, patient safety, and positive outcomes
Requirements
BSN required, MSN preferred
Texas RN license or active compact license
Specialty certification (Inpatient OB, EFM, or similar) required within 6 months of hire
3–5+ years of healthcare experience
1+ year of supervisory experience in a Labor & Delivery unit
Experience in high-volume birthing environments (800+ births/month) strongly preferred
