Manager of Surgical Services
Salary Estimate: Midpoint $101.97 (there is flexibility to go higher based on the candidates experience)
Sign-On Bonus: $10,000

Position Summary
The Nurse Manager for Surgical Services manages the daily operations and staff functions in Surgical Services. The patients’ continuum of care from entry to discharge is followed to ensure all patient care needs are being meet. The position assists in developing objectives, policies, and procedures which support the mission, vision and values of the hospital. The position maintains the professional practice standards, customer relations, compliance with accreditation/licensure requirements, personnel and practice in the institution. The position works collaboratively with medical staff, other departments, departmental staff, and serves in a leadership role.
This position reports to: Director of Surgical Services
QUALIFICATIONS:
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum: BLS, Current CA RN License
Preferred: CNOR, ACLS
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum: At least 5 years’ experience in the Operating Room and experience with PACU, Endoscopy and Pre-Op
Preferred: 2-5 years managerial or supervisory experience.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum: Graduate of accredited Nursing program.
Preferred: BSN or equivalent Bachelor’s Degree; Master’s Degree
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Problem solving and critical thinking ability. Knowledge of Nursing Practice Act and Critical Care competencies.
Minimum: Effective front line supervision, word processing/spreadsheet, time management, clinical proficiency, Title XXII, Quality Improvement
