Job Duties and Responsibilities: As Director of Surgical Services, you will:

Oversee and manage all aspects of the surgical services department.
Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure high-quality patient care and safety.
Lead a team of dedicated healthcare professionals, including surgeons, nurses, and support staff.
Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare leaders to drive excellence in surgical care.
Monitor and optimize surgical department performance, including case volume, patient outcomes, and staff productivity.
Provide guidance and mentorship to staff to foster professional growth and development.

Hospital Highlights:

Surgical Services: Johnston-Willis has a larger volume of surgeries compared to Chippenham and boasts more operating rooms. Currently, they have 18 ORs (excluding C-section ORs), and they handle complex neuro cases, comprehensive stroke care, robotics-assisted surgeries with 6 XI robots, and heavy orthopedic and spine surgeries.
Specialties: The hospital is looking to expand its orthopedic, neuro, spine, and oncology services. We have a strong presence in GYN oncology.
Anesthesia: The hospital has an employed anesthesia group, with a mix of employed and splitter surgeons, as well as an independent but loyal surgeon group.
Challenges: The hospital is actively working on teaching and improving basic processes, policies, and procedures. We are also in a joint commission window.
Case Volume: Surgical case volume varies, with busy days seeing [Range of Cases] cases on average.
Leadership: The Director of Surgical Services will oversee [Number of Managers] Managers and report to the COO.
Staffing: Staffing has been a challenge, but the hospital has support for contract labor, which has been beneficial.

Compensation:

Salary Range: $130,000 - $170,000, depending on leadership experience, internal equity, and more.
Bonus Potential: Up to 22.5% potential bonus with a standard target of 15% potential.
