Shift: 3x12-Hour (07:00 - 19:30)
Start Date: ASAP
Job Duration: 13-week renewable contract
We are currently seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse to join our Medical/Surgical/Telemetry team in Chesapeake, VA. As an integral member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional patient care and contribute to positive patient outcomes. - Provide direct patient care and coordinate care activities within the medical/surgical/telemetry unit.
- Assess and monitor patients' conditions, perform ongoing evaluations, and update patient care plans as needed.
- Administer medications, perform IV starts, and ensure the delivery of accurate and timely treatments.
- Interpret cardiac telemetry readings and promptly respond to changes or abnormalities.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to create and implement comprehensive care plans.
- Educate patients and their families about their conditions, medications, and self-care techniques.
- Ensure accurate documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
- Float to different units within the facility as needed, demonstrating adaptability and flexibility in providing care.
- Work on weekdays, every other weekend, and holidays as per the contract requirements.
- Valid and current RN license, either Compact or Virginia state license.
- BLS and ACLS certifications obtained through the American Heart Association.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical/surgical and telemetry nursing.
- Proficiency in using EPIC electronic medical records system.
- Experience in travel nursing is preferred but not required.
- Must have a COVID-19 vaccination as per facility guidelines, with medical or religious exemptions considered.
