Shift: 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:00) OR (07:00 - 19:00)
Start Date: ASAP
Job Duration: 13-week renewable contract
Salary: $1,706-$1,991/week
We are currently seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our dedicated Oncology team. As an Oncology RN, you will provide comprehensive care to patients with cancer and support them throughout their treatment journey. This position offers flexible shift options, a 13-week renewable contract, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of patients and their families.
Responsibilities:
- Assess and monitor patients' physical and emotional well-being, including pain management and symptom control.
- Administer chemotherapy treatments and other prescribed medications accurately and safely.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Educate patients and their families about the treatment plan, potential side effects, and self-care strategies.
- Provide emotional support and counseling to patients and their families.
- Monitor patients' response to treatment, document observations, and communicate with the healthcare team.
- Coordinate and facilitate multidisciplinary meetings to discuss patients' treatment progress and make necessary adjustments.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment, adhering to infection control protocols.
- Collaborate with social workers, nutritionists, and other specialists to address the holistic needs of patients.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in inpatient medical telemetry, with a preference for oncology experience.
- Chemo certification is highly desired.
- Active Maryland RN license in good standing.
- AHA BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Flexibility to float to various units as needed.
- Availability to work 3x12-hour shifts, including every other weekend and holiday coverage.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to provide compassionate care and support to patients and their families.
- Compliance with COVID-19 vaccination requirements as per facility guidelines.
