Compensation: $84,849 – $127,274/year (based on experience)

Overview
A specialty cardiovascular surgical hospital in the Dallas area is seeking an experienced Nurse Manager for the Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU). This expanding 28-bed critical care unit treats high-acuity cardiovascular patients, including those requiring ECMO support. With two managers supporting the unit, this is an excellent opportunity for a strong critical care leader to help guide a growing service line.
The Nurse Manager works closely with nursing leadership, intensivists, cardiovascular surgeons, and ECMO teams to ensure exceptional patient outcomes, staff development, and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
• Provide operational, clinical, and personnel leadership for the CVICU
• Ensure safe, high-quality, evidence-based care for complex cardiovascular patients
• Collaborate with nursing leadership and interdisciplinary teams to meet regulatory and organizational standards
• Oversee staffing, scheduling, and workflow; may step into clinical staffing as needed
• Develop and implement policies, procedures, and quality initiatives
• Lead performance improvement, regulatory readiness, and patient experience efforts
• Foster a culture of accountability, communication, and teamwork
• Oversee ~40 FTEs within a total CVICU team of 73 staff shared between two managers
• Provide leadership for ECMO personnel and support critical care service line operations
Qualifications
Required:
• Minimum 4 years of recent critical care leadership experience, specifically in CVICU/ICU (within the past year)
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN)
• Active RN license (Texas or Compact)
• Current BLS and ACLS
Preferred:
• Master’s degree in Nursing or related field
• CCRN and/or CNRN certification
• Experience with high-acuity cardiac units, ECMO programs, or cardiovascular surgery populations
