About the Role
Join a premier healthcare provider at a 238-bed acute care hospital in Panama City, FL , and lead as the Director of Medical-Surgical Services . In this role, you’ll oversee a 42-bed Med-Surg unit, ensuring high-quality, cost-effective patient care while driving operational excellence and financial stability. This is a leadership position reporting to the ACNO and CNO, offering opportunities for professional growth and advancement.
Key Responsibilities
✔️ Provide strategic leadership for planning, management, and implementation of department goals aligned with facility objectives.
✔️ Enhance the department through performance improvement initiatives and efficient resource utilization.
✔️ Develop systems to ensure seamless patient flow through the continuum of care.
✔️ Facilitate comprehensive education programs for patients and staff.
✔️ Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
✔️ Evaluate and recommend new technologies and services to improve care delivery.
✔️ Lead multi-disciplinary patient care conferences for high-risk or medically complex patients.
✔️ Oversee staffing, hiring, and performance evaluations, ensuring compliance with Affirmative Action/EEO regulations.
✔️ Direct short- and long-term program development to achieve facility objectives.
Qualifications
🔹 Active RN License (Florida license required).
🔹 Bachelor’s Degree Required | Advanced Nursing Degree Preferred.
🔹 2–3 Years of Recent Acute Care Leadership Experience (Manager level or higher) in an adult inpatient setting.
🔹 Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) Certification Required within 30 days of hire.
🔹 Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.

- Size: 42-bed Med-Surg unit (“bread and butter” med-surg patients).
- Team: 57 FTEs, including Directors, Managers, Clinical Nurse Coordinators, RNs, LPNs, and Patient Care Techs.
