Position Details:

  • Title: RN Critical Care Unit (MICU/ SICU)
  • Location: Plano, TX
  • Shift Pattern:
    • Full-Time Nights: 7P-7A
    • Rotating Weekends

Facility Overview: The facility is a comprehensive 603-bed acute-care hospital offering an extensive range of specialties and sub-specialties. Key highlights include:

  • Comprehensive cardiovascular program, cancer-treatment center, radiology/imaging center, and more.
  • Level 1 trauma center, a high-risk antepartum unit, and a Level 3 neonatal intensive-care unit.

Role Summary: The Critical Care ICU RN manages nursing care to patients in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess, plan, and evaluate patient care needs.
  • Administer medications, change dressings, monitor vital signs.
  • Provide cardiopulmonary management and monitoring.
  • Coordinate with all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
  • Educate and instruct patients and families.
  • Coordinate patient's discharge planning with the healthcare team.
  • Provide age and culturally appropriate care.
  • Mentor and orient new staff members.
  • Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Education: BSN Required. However, those with ADN may be considered with the commitment to attain BSN.
  • Licensure/Certifications:
    • TX RN or Compact State Licensure
    • ACLS and BLS
    • PALS (within 6 months)
    • CCRN preferred
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 1 year of ICU experience in an acute care setting. Preference given to those with 2+ years.
    • Must have ventilator and drip experience.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salary Structure:
    • Starting: $33/hr (1-year experience)
    • Mid: $47.10/hr (10 years of experience)
    • Max: $54/hr (18 years of experience)
  • Shift Differential: $3.75/hr for nights and $4.30/hr for weekends.
