Job Duration: 13-week renewable contract
We are seeking an experienced CVOR Surgical Technician to join our Surgical Services team. As a CVOR Tech, you will play a vital role in assisting surgeons during cardiovascular surgical procedures. Your expertise in the cardiac operating room will contribute to the successful outcomes of our patients.
- Prepare the operating room for cardiovascular surgical procedures, ensuring that all necessary equipment and supplies are available and properly sterilized.
- Assist the surgical team during procedures, passing instruments and supplies to the surgeon as needed.
- Maintain a sterile environment throughout the surgery, adhering to strict aseptic techniques.
- Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and assist with patient positioning, draping, and other tasks.
- Operate and monitor specialized surgical equipment, such as heart-lung machines and intra-aortic balloon pumps.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of procedures.
- Handle specimens and prepare them for laboratory analysis.
- Maintain accurate documentation of surgical procedures and patient records.
- Adhere to safety and infection control protocols.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in cardiovascular operating room (CVOR) procedures.
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist by NBSTSA or NCCT.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Availability for on-call shifts as required.
- Ability to set up and start call and perform other cases if no CVOR cases are scheduled.
