Shift: 4x12-Hour (07:00 - 19:30)

Job Duration: 13-week renewable contract
Salary: $2,448-$2,856/week
We are currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Medical/Surgical/Telemetry team in Chesapeake, VA. As a member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional patient care and contribute to positive patient outcomes. Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care within the medical/surgical/telemetry unit, ensuring the delivery of high-quality and compassionate care.
- Assess patients' conditions, monitor vital signs, and administer medications as prescribed.
- Perform IV starts and manage intravenous therapies effectively.
- Interpret and analyze telemetry readings, promptly recognizing and responding to any changes or abnormalities.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans for each patient.
- Educate patients and their families about their conditions, medications, and self-care techniques.
- Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely.
- Float to different units within the facility as needed, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in providing care.
- Work on weekdays, every other weekend, and holidays as per the contract requirements.
Requirements:
- Valid and current RN license, either Compact or Virginia state license.
- BLS and ACLS certifications obtained through the American Heart Association.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical/surgical and telemetry nursing.
- Proficiency in using the EPIC electronic medical records system is a must.
- Strong skills in IV starts and telemetry interpretation.
- Travel nursing experience is preferred but not required.
- Must have a COVID-19 vaccination as per facility guidelines, with medical or religious exemptions considered.
