Job Title: Physical Therapist (Acute Care)

Location: Providence, RI 02908

Shift: 5x8-Hour (09:00 - 17:00)

Start Date: ASAP

Job Duration: 13-week renewable contract

Salary: $2,016-$2,352/week

We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Physical Therapist (PT) to join our team at an Acute Care Hospital in Providence, RI. This position offers a day shift schedule and is a 13-week renewable contract with the possibility of extension. First-timers with some acute care experience are welcome to apply.

Responsibilities:

Perform various physical therapy treatments and interventions to patients in an acute care setting.
Conduct assessments, evaluations, and reassessments of patients to develop appropriate treatment plans.
Provide gait training, mobilization techniques, and exercises to improve strength, flexibility, and range of motion.
Assist patients with mobility using devices such as gait belts, standard walkers, rolling walkers, and sit-to-stand lifts.
Address specific post-operative conditions such as total hip/knee replacements, cervical/spinal surgeries, and shoulder repairs.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure effective patient care and achieve desired outcomes.
Educate patients and their families on home exercise programs, safety measures, and injury prevention techniques.
Document patient progress, treatment plans, and outcomes accurately and timely.

Requirements:

Minimum 1 year of experience as a Physical Therapist in an acute care hospital setting.
Rhode Island PT license or eligible for licensure in Rhode Island.
Strong knowledge and skills in disciplines such as assessment, evaluation, discharge planning, gait training, and orthopedic conditions.
Preferred experience in acute care, home exercise programs, patient family education, cardiopulmonary, geriatrics, ICU, neurology, oncology, and orthopedics.
Ability to lift and transfer patients safely and effectively.
Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Must be willing to work weekends on a rotational basis.
COVID-19 vaccination required as per facility guidelines (Medical exemptions only).

Note: Caseload includes various acute care cases, such as orthopedics, ICU, ED, medical, and surgical patients. This position does not involve outpatient care. All staff will rotate weekends.
