Shift: 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30)

Job Duration: 13-week renewable contract
Salary: $2,052-$2,394/week
Are you a dedicated Registered Nurse with experience in Medical-Surgical/Telemetry (MS/Tele) looking for an exciting opportunity in Chesapeake, VA? As an MS/Tele Nurse, you will provide comprehensive care to patients on the medical-surgical unit with a focus on telemetry monitoring. Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing interventions.
- Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms using telemetry equipment.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Perform IV starts and manage intravenous therapy.
- Assist with diagnostic procedures and provide pre- and post-procedural care.
- Educate patients and their families on disease management, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
- Respond to medical emergencies and provide appropriate interventions.
- Ensure adherence to infection control and patient safety protocols.
Requirements:
- Valid and active Registered Nurse license in the state of Virginia.
- BLS and ACLS certifications required via the American Heart Association.
- NIHSS certification.
- Proficiency in EPIC EMR system is a firm requirement (no exceptions).
- Minimum of 2 years of recent experience working with neurology patients.
- Strong IV start skills.
- Travel nursing experience is preferred.
- Availability to work weekdays, every other weekend, float, and holidays as required within the contract.
- COVID-19 vaccination is required as per facility guidelines, with medical or religious exemptions considered.
