Title: Manager, RN – Labor & Delivery – Houston, TX
- Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent
- Schedule: Nights 11:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m., five shifts per week, weekend rotation
- Compensation: $45–$58 per hour depending on experience
- Sign-On / Relocation: Case by case
Overview
Lead a night-shift Labor & Delivery service within a high-volume maternity program backed by Level IV NICU support. Drive safe throughput, team engagement, and outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Direct nightly L&D operations, staffing, assignments, and patient flow 
- Coach nurses and techs; conduct huddles, rounding, feedback, and precepting 
- Ensure fetal monitoring standards, escalation pathways, and emergency readiness 
- Partner with OBs, anesthesia, NICU, periop, and ED for seamless transitions 
- Maintain regulatory readiness, policy adherence, competencies, and documentation 
- Track unit metrics and lead quality, safety, and experience initiatives 
- Manage scheduling, resources, and supply stewardship 
Qualifications
Required
- BSN 
- Current Texas or Compact RN license 
- 3–5 years recent L&D leadership in acute care (manager or charge) 
- BLS; NRP within 6 months; AWHONN Intermediate/Advanced Fetal Monitoring within 6 months 
Preferred
- ACLS 
- Experience with triage, PACU, OR, and high-risk L&D workflows 
- Master’s degree and L&D specialty certification
