Job Title: Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical

Location: Providence, RI 02908

Shift: 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:00)

Start Date: ASAP

Job Duration: 13-week renewable contract

Salary: $1,922-$2,243/week

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Medical Surgical team. As a Registered Nurse in the Medical Surgical unit, you will provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients with various medical conditions. Your responsibilities will include assessing patients, administering medications, monitoring vital signs, coordinating patient care, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary healthcare team. This position requires a minimum of 1 year of experience, but we also welcome first-time nurses to apply.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and develop individualized care plans.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
  • Monitor and document patients' vital signs, progress, and symptoms.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and effective patient care.
  • Educate patients and their families on healthcare conditions, treatments, and self-care strategies.
  • Respond to medical emergencies and provide appropriate interventions.
  • Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a safe and clean patient environment.
  • Utilize telemetry monitoring and interpreting dysrhythmias.
  • Manage and respond to dysrhythmias and utilize rapid response teams.
  • Implement IV insulin protocols and administer blood products.
  • Perform phlebotomy and manage peripheral lines and PICC lines.
  • Adhere to isolation precautions to prevent the spread of infections.

Requirements:

  • Valid Registered Nurse license in the state of Rhode Island
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a medical surgical setting (new graduates are welcome to apply)
  • ACLS and BCLS certifications
  • Experience in MS/Tele, telemetry monitoring, and interpretation of dysrhythmias
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
  • COVID-19 vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
