Your Role as a Medical Technologist

As a Medical Technologist , you’ll perform vital laboratory testing to support patient care. Here’s what you’ll do:

• Laboratory Testing:

  • Perform accurate and timely testing by analyzing proficiency samples and completing tasks within the allowable timeframe.
  • Conduct stat procedures within established turnaround time targets to ensure timely patient care.

• Quality Control & Compliance:

  • Perform quality control procedures per protocol and handle critical lab specimens/test results.
  • Review pending logs (OSR) and result logs; resolve outstanding work or communicate with staff relief.

• Department Oversight:

  • Assume responsibility for the department in the absence of the supervisor.
  • Maintain complete and accurate records/documentation for all patient results.

• Problem Solving:

  • Use good judgment and independent thinking to interpret patient results, including performing delta checks.
  • Troubleshoot issues and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

Who We’re Looking For

To succeed in this role, you’ll need:

• Education: Associate degree required; Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology preferred.
• Certifications: Active State of Florida Technologist License required (candidates must have fully applied for their license due to processing delays).
• Experience: Less than 1 year of experience as a Medical Technologist; generalist experience highly preferred.
• Skills: Strong attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and proficiency with lab systems.
