Shift: 5x8-Hour (14:30 - 23:00)
Job Duration: 13-Week Renewable Contract
We are currently seeking an experienced and skilled X-Ray Tech to join our Radiology/Cardiology department in Glens Falls, NY. As an X-Ray Tech, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services to our patients.
- Perform X-ray examinations on patients using radiographic techniques and equipment, ensuring high-quality images are obtained for accurate diagnosis.
- Position patients properly and instruct them on the appropriate breathing techniques to obtain the best possible images.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to determine the necessary imaging procedures based on the patient's condition and physician's orders.
- Prepare and administer contrast media when necessary, following established protocols and ensuring patient safety.
- Operate and maintain radiographic equipment, ensuring its proper functioning and performing routine quality control checks.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient information, examination results, and other pertinent data in the electronic medical record system.
- Adhere to radiation safety guidelines and ensure proper shielding and protection for patients, staff, and self.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, following infection control protocols and guidelines.
- Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to review and interpret images, providing additional imaging as requested.
- Assist in patient care and transport, ensuring patient comfort and safety throughout the imaging process.
- Valid certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Current and valid New York State license as an X-Ray Tech.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as an X-Ray Tech, with a focus on radiology and cardiology.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide clear instructions and explanations to patients.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Flexibility to work a mid-shift schedule with 5x8-hour shifts and rotating weekends.
- Must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 as per facility guidelines (No Exemptions).
