Position Overview:
The Graduate Nurse Residency – StaRN Program offers a comprehensive training experience for new graduate nurses. The program includes:
- Meaningful learning and networking opportunities in a cohort setting.
- New employee orientation and unit orientation lasting 10 – 12 weeks.
- 5-6 weeks of didactic training, including clinical orientation, certification courses, high-fidelity simulation, Meditech EMR training, and e-learning. This training will be Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week.
- 5-6 weeks of clinical training on the unit with a dedicated preceptor, working 32 hours per week on the preceptor's schedule.
Available Units:
Med/Surg, Med/Tele Cardiac, Ortho, Spine, Neuro, Oncology, Bone Marrow Transplant, Critical Care, Complex Surgical Transplant, Step Down Unit, Acute Rehab, Behavioral Health, PACU, and more.
Start Dates:
Med-Surg/Tele: Feb 27, March 6&13, May 29, June 5, August 7,14,21,28, October 30, November 13
OR: Feb 20, July 31, Nov 7

Qualifications:
- Current nursing degree (associates or bachelors) by the start date.
- Passing NCLEX results by the start date.
- No current or prior experience as an acute care hospital Registered Nurse.
- Flexibility for day or night shifts based on unit-specific needs.
- Commitment to a full-time Registered Nurse position for a two-year period.
- Adherence to the state mandate regarding the COVID-19 vaccine by October 31, 2021.

- VISA SPONSORSHIP OFFERED for international students that graduated from an accredited nursing program within the United States (excluding nationals from India and China).
- All candidates must have ACTIVE OPT. OPT is a temporary employment authorization for a year. Candidates apply for an OPT while in school. Their first job out of school to get an OPT must directly relate to their major
