Position Overview:
Join our state-of-the-art laboratory facility in Nashville, TN, supporting 14 HCA Hospitals and 4 Free Standing ED facilities. We are currently seeking dedicated professionals who can work rotating evening and weekend shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform histology and cytology procedures including specimen processing/fixation, cell block preparation, embedding, microtomy, slide preparation, routine stains, IHC, and special stains.
Assure positive sample, block, and slide identification.
Prepare and maintain reagents for routine stains and histology procedures.
Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and instruments.
Adhere to departmental policies regarding performance and documentation of quality control and quality assurance.

Requirements:

Associate’s degree in Chemistry, Biology OR completion of an accredited Histotechnology program with one year of experience.
Alternatively, a Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Biomedical Science, Biology, or Chemistry.
National Certification as a HT/HLT (ASCP) required.
Thorough knowledge of histology methods and their correlation to disease processes.
Ability to follow protocols for proper fixation and routine staining of samples.
General knowledge of laboratory accreditation and regulatory compliance requirements.
