Position Overview
We're seeking an experienced Blood Cancer Unit Nurse Manager to join our collaborative leadership team. This co-manager position oversees 67+ FTEs across our specialized oncology units, working alongside a dedicated team of 6 Clinical Nurse Coordinators and support staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership for blood cancer and stem cell treatment units
- Manage 41 beds across two floors (21/20 split)
- Drive excellence in oncology nursing care
- Collaborate with co-manager and director to achieve unit goals
- Develop and maintain cost-effective systems
- Foster strong physician relationships
- Lead performance improvement initiatives
- Build and maintain high-performing teams
- Ensure quality patient outcomes
- Support evidence-based practice implementation
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required (Advanced degree preferred)
- 2-3 years of recent acute care leadership experience in Blood Cancer Unit
- Current Texas RN license or compact license
- BLS certification required
- ACLS certification required within 12 months
- Strong track record of team building
- Demonstrated problem-solving abilities
