Overview
We are seeking a seasoned Administrative Director of Emergency Services to provide strategic, operational, and clinical leadership across a multi-site emergency services network in the Pensacola, Florida region.
This role has enterprise-level accountability for emergency department performance, patient throughput, quality outcomes, workforce engagement, and financial stewardship. The Director partners closely with executive leadership and physicians to ensure emergency services are positioned for sustainable growth, operational excellence, and exceptional patient care.
This opportunity is ideal for an Emergency Services leader with recent Director-level acute care experience, preferably including oversight of freestanding emergency departments or multi-site operations.
Responsibilities
Clinical Quality & Patient Safety
Lead evidence-based emergency care practices to advance quality and patient safety
Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and professional standards
Drive patient flow, capacity planning, and throughput optimization initiatives
Promote consistency, accountability, and transparency in emergency care delivery
Service Excellence & Patient Experience
Champion a patient-centered culture across emergency services
Utilize patient experience data and benchmarks to guide improvement strategies
Collaborate with interdisciplinary leaders to enhance access, responsiveness, and satisfaction
People Leadership & Talent Development
Lead and develop emergency services leadership teams across multiple sites
Drive employee engagement, retention, and succession planning
Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture aligned with organizational values
Strategic Growth & Community Engagement
Identify opportunities for emergency services expansion and service-line growth
Collaborate with physicians and administrative leaders to develop new offerings
Monitor healthcare trends, reimbursement changes, and competitive dynamics
Represent emergency services positively within the community
Financial & Operational Stewardship
Participate in annual budgeting, staffing models, and capital planning
Ensure effective labor management, productivity oversight, and premium pay control
Manage operating expenses and identify cost-reduction opportunities
Align financial performance with quality and access objectives
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor’s Degree
3+ years of recent Director-level Emergency Services experience in an acute care setting
Demonstrated success leading complex emergency department operations
Preferred
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Master’s Degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field
Experience overseeing freestanding emergency departments or multi-site ED operations
